This is an early 20th century Navajo silver ring with Hubbell glass. The silver shank is split near the setting, and decorated by stamp work. The ring features a domed, oval shaped Hubbell glass cabochon, set in a flat silver bezel, with a border of silver drops around. Hubbell glass was originally imported from Czechoslovakia by trader John Lorenzo Hubbell (of the famous Hubbell Trading Post) and sold or traded to American Indians in the area for use in their jewelry-making.
