This is an early 20th century Navajo regional rug woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand dyed vegetal brown, and hand dyed aniline red. The design is quilt like with an overall checked pattern. The interior of each checker is split into stepped triangles of alternating colors creating a large central white diamond on a darker field.
