Size: 87" x 59"

Origin: Navajo

An early 20th century Navajo rug from the Crystal region woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural ivory, tan, brown, gray and over-dyed black. This rug was originally produced for the mail order catalog of the Crystal Trading Post in New Mexico. The owner, J.B. Moore, worked directly with Navajo weavers to develop a number of different designs. Known as one of the most decorative designs from JB Moore’s famed 1911 catalog, this is a spectacular example of Plate XXX with an extremely fine weave. The central design features elaborate geometric designs in ivory, brown and black all on a gray field. The field is bordered by a broad band of tan with black barbed wire motif along the interior.
