This is an early 20th century Navajo Crystal rug woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, brown, dark brown, and hand carded gray. The design features a large diamond at center with an abstract maltese cross on the interior and mirrored stepped forms with hook motifs above and below, all on a gray background. The field is further decorated with whirling log motifs and is bordered by a thick band of dark brown with repeating diamond motifs on the interior and thin bands of brown and ivory along the outer edge.
