This is a late 19th to early 20th century Navajo Transitional period textile woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, and hand dyed aniline colors including red, yellow, orange, and purple. The design is typical of the period with horizontal bands of geometric motifs (serrated zigzags and repeating stepped triangles) separated by alternating thin stripes of dark brown and ivory, all on a red field.
