This is an early to mid 20th century Navajo textile from the Teec Nos Pos Trading Post region woven entirely in hand spun native wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded grey, and a variety of hand dyed aniline colors including blue, red, and orange. The textile features a complex design in the field with line work and floating geometric motifs surrounding a large white bow tie like form that fills the field. At the center is a large directional cross and at the ends of the bow tie form are single arrows. The textile is further decorated with a wide elaborate scrolling border of angular hook motifs in black and white.
