A Navajo weaver wove this outstanding blanket in the last quarter of the 19th century using commercially spun and dyed wool from Germantown, PA. (one of the first wool manufacturing companies in the United States before the turn of the century). The design is composed of twenty-four distinct squares, each with common Navajo designs, creating a sort of sampler pattern. The textile is in excellent original condition.
