This is a modern silver horse bit with inlay by Zuni artist Frank Vacit. The bit is comprised of curved silver cheekpieces connected across center by a silver mouthpiece. The outside of each cheekpiece is decorated by an ornate inlaid design done in turquoise, mother of pearl or abalone??, jet, and spiny oyster or coral??, and the rings are bordered by bands of rectangular shaped jet inlay. Included with the bit is a custom made stand, as well as a photo of the artist holding the piece.
