This is a late 19th century Navajo double saddle blanket woven entirely in hand spun natural native wool in a variety of hand dyed aniline colors including red, orange yellow, light blue and purple. The entire piece is woven using the diagonal twill technique creating a thick durable textile. The design is split in two panels, one with a repeating zigzag of alternating colors and the other with horizontal bands.
