This is a late 19th century Navajo manta hand woven entirely in hand spun wool in native natural dark brown, hand dyed indigo blue, and hand dyed aniline red and yellow. The design is similar to that worn at the Pueblos with a horizontal arrangement and field in dark brown with wide borders at top and bottom. The border is dark indigo blue along the outermost edge and below a wide band of red separated at the center with a barber pole design in yellow and indigo.
