This is a late 19th to early 20th century Navajo textile from Hubbell trading post woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural dark brown and hand dyed aniline red and blue. The design is typical of a Navajo manta with a broad band of dark brown through the center with decoration reserved for the top and bottom borders. Here the borders are horizontal bands of stepped triangles in alternating red and blue. The textile is in excellent condition.
