This is an early 20th century Navajo textile woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded gray, and hand died aniline red. The gray field is halved at center by a horizontal row of ivory rectangles, connected by lines of dark brown. Above and below the central band are larger rectangular shapes, decorated further by smaller brown squares on the inner corners. The rug is bordered by a dark brown band around the perimeter, and a horizontal band of red at top and bottom.
