This is a late 19th century Navajo Transitional period double saddle blanket woven in hand spun native wool in natural hand carded grey, tan, and hand dyed aniline orange and yellow, as well as commercial "Germantown" wool in green. The textile has a banded design with wide bands at the ends decorated in colorful barber pole striping on tan. The center is similarly decorated but a thinner band and all are on a grey field.
