This is a early 20th century Navajo textile from the Ganado/Hubbell Trading Post region woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded grey, and hand dyed aniline red. The design is composed of mirrored half stepped diamonds both top to bottom and left to right. The diamonds are made of interlacing lines of alternating colors all on a red background. The textile is bordered only on the top and bottom indicating its early date of manufacture.
