This is a late 19th century Navajo wedge weave blanket woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, hand carded grey, dark brown, hand dyed natural indigo, and hand dyed aniline red and orange. The blanket design is split into seven broad horizontal bands of zigzag motifs created by a pulled warp technique. Interestingly the weaver was able to accomplish this pulled warp technique in two directions in the same lane creating the eye shaped lozenges in the center of three of the horizontal bands.
