This is a mid to late 19th century Navajo silver horse headstall set composed of leather strapping with eleven silver pieces including a central brow plaque, brow side pieces and cross bars, large round scalloped conchos and both flared and flat cheek pieces. Each silver piece is decorated with etched borders of twisted rope designs and the central brow band is further decorated by a central etched cross design, reminiscent of the Pueblo and Mexican styles that came before. Three segmented plain silver pieces with hand etched designs and flower motif. Hand punched and cold chiseled round side conchos, silver tips flare out with silver balls on ends.
