Navajo Pictorial Textiles: 1920-1980

We are pleased to present a new collection of vintage Navajo pictorial weavings. While some pieces represent scenes of everyday life on the reservation with images of cattle or pickup trucks, others find inspiration in the unseen, with depictions of Yei’s, of old stories, and of faith.
From playful to powerful, this collection shows the unbridled imagination of Diné artists, using wool, wefts and warps as their canvas, weavers have imagined multitudes of experiences.
