This is an early to mid 20th century Navajo textile from the Red Mesa Trading Post region woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded grey, and a variety of hand dyed aniline colors including red, blue, turquoise, and green. In the field is a central vertical band of serrated diamonds, further ornamented with radiating serrated zig-zag bands in alternating colors. The wide border features an elaborate scrolling greek key motif in ivory on dark brown, with a thin band of red along the outermost edge.
