Pottery Sherd Bowl by American ceramicist Rick Dillingham (1952-1994). Dillingham was a scholar of historic Pueblo pottery, published author and innovator of contemporary deconstructed pottery styles. While working as a restorer of prehistoric Native American pottery, Dillingham became interested in the process of reconstruction. This piece is a constructed coil pot, which was then broken, decorated with slip and then reassembled. Signed and dated 1984.
