This is a mid to late 19th century Navajo Transitional Period blanket woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural ivory, vegetal dyed indigo blue, and aniline dyed red and orange. The blanket has an overall horizontally banded design featuring bands serrated zig-zag bands of indigo and orange and solid bands of ivory and orange across a variegated red background. The field is further decorated with small rectangular motifs and fine toothed motifs halved halved down the center in alternating colors.
