This is a Navajo Late Classic period Third Phase Chief blanket woven with natural, handspun churro wool in ivory and dark brown, hand spun indigo dyed blue and single ply raveled American Flannel dyed with aniline. The blanket has a typical lay out for it's type with broad horizontal stripes in alternating ivory and dark brown with finely stepped diamonds superimposed on top of the striped background. The diamonds are further decorated with barber pole stripes in brown and white and a thin interior indigo blue stepped diamond.
