An historic kilt worn as dance regalia by a Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) child. Featuring painted elements of a sun, moon and rain cloud centered above Avanyu, painted on Native tanned deer hide. Avanyu is the mythical water deity of the Tewa, represented as a sinuous serpent with lighting bolts issuing from its mouth. Fringe capped with tin cones. Ex.
