This is a traditional Hopi kachina doll carved from a single piece of cotton wood root representing the Hote Kachina by Otto Pentewa. Wonderfully detailed regalia including the snake dance kilt, hide bandolier bag, painted ketoh and body paint bring life to this otherworldly character. Otto Pentewa is one of a few known carvers of the early 20th century and has a well documented style.
