This is an early to mid 20th century pair of Santo Domingo Depression Era thunderbird earrings. Typical of this time period, the earrings are made with various plastic materials, likely taken from things like battery casings, comb teeth, plastic utensils, or toothbrush handles, and crushed turquoise, inlaid on a solid black backing. The thunderbirds hang from small round studs by hand twisted silver wires.
