This is a late 20th century Navajo pictorial sandpainting rug woven entirely in native handspun wool in natural ivory, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline tan, turquoise, and black, woven by Ora Jim. The design features two yei beings, side by side, depicting Mother Earth and Father Sky and is further decorated by feather motifs, all on a gray field. A thin band of tan and turquoise surround the central design along three sides, leaving the top open. The textile is further bordered by a band of black along the entire outer edge.
