This is a mid 20th century Navajo textile from the Teec Nos Pos Trading Post region woven in native hand spun and commercial wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded grey, and a variety of aniline dyed colors including red, blue, green, and orange. Typical of the Teec Nos Pos style the textile features an ornate design with two large wing like forms in white on a grey field with various geometric designs connected by fine lines both inside the white wing forms and covering the background of the field. The border is equally ornate with large bow tie like forms in tan with fine outlines and various geometric designs inside each. The textile has a very fine handle and is in excellent condition.
