This is a late 19th century Navajo Transitional Period wearing blanket woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, various shades of natural brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red and orange. The design features three diamonds made from triangle motifs across center with zig-zag bands of triangle motifs radiating above and below, all in alternating colors. The field is further decorated by two cross motifs near the bottom edge. The textile is bordered by a simple band of ivory at top and bottom.
