This is a late 19th century Navajo Second Phase revival chiefs blanket woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red and orange. The design is typical of the Second Phase style with horizontal stripes of alternating dark brown and ivory with thin red and gray accents across the top, bottom and center. The field is further decorated with nine box motifs made from bands of alternating color evenly spaced along the edges and one at center.
