This is a late 19th to early 20th century Navajo rug from the Hubbell Trading Post woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red. The design features a large central diamond in ivory with a whirling log inside and bordered by red triangle motifs on a gray background. The field is further decorated with a whirling log motif in each corner and is bordered by a wide band of red and dark brown, halved by a stepped triangular line.
