This is a late 19th to early 20th century Navajo rug from the Hubbell Trading Post region woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural dark brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red. The design features a red cross motif at center surrounded by a large serrated diamond made from bands of red and brown and red cross motifs at each corner all on a gray field. The field is bordered by two thin bands in red and dark brown.
