A late 19th century Navajo wedge weave textile woven in hand spun natural ivory and vegetal dyed indigo, raveled and re-carded reds and aniline dyed orange. The blanket features five broad horizontal bands of red with brightly colored zig-zag patterns on the interior, produced using a pulled warp technique known as wedge weave, all on an ivory background. The blanket is bordered by a thin band of red across top and bottom. Blankets woven using the wedge weave technique are rare, even for the period.
