This is a mid 20th century Navajo pictorial rug woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, brown, tan, gray, and hand dyed aniline red. The design features a large elaborate thunderbird at center of a gray field bordered by a thick band of white and dark brown hooked motifs with a band of repeating stepped triangles in tan and gray along the interior.
