This is a late 19th century Navajo rug woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, tan, dark brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red. The design features two large cross motifs stacked at center with smaller dark brown crosses in each corner and a whirling log motif on either side all on a red field. The field is bordered by a thick ivory band with a stepped zig-zag edge on the interior.
