This is a late 19th to early 20th century Navajo manta woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural dark brown, and aniline dyed red and blue. The design is typical of a Navajo manta with a broad undecorated field of dark brown at the center and broad borders of horizontal bands in red and blue across top and bottom. The red bands are further decorated with repeating cross motifs on the interior.
