This is a late 20th century Navajo pictorial rug woven entirely in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, brown, tan, hand carded grey, and hand dyed aniline black by master weaver Esther Etcitty. The design features imagery including animals, humanoid figures, as well as different petroglyphic motifs, all in a variety of colors on a gray field. The rug is bordered by a band of black halved stepped diamonds at top and bottom and a solid black band along each side.
