This is a contemporary silver concho belt by Navajo silversmith Mckee Platero. The belt features six oval shaped conchos with a high domed shape and central repoussé rosette, with scalloped edges ornately filed and stamped, and seven silver butterflies with a central oval and radiating feathered repoussé. The buckle has an overall rectangular shape with pairs of lozenge shaped repoussé extending from top and bottom of the central opening. The buckle also features two feathered silver plaques extending from either side. The piece is clearly hallmarked on the reverse. Buckle: 4 3/8" width x 3 1/8" height, 6 Conchas: 3 1/2" width x 3" height, 7 Butterflies: 1 3/4" width x 3" height.
