A late 19th to early 20th century Navajo rug from the Crystal region woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, gray and aniline dyed red. The design features an elongated stepped diamond motif, with a cross on the interior, at center of a variegated gray field. The field is further decorated by a checkered "H" motif in each corner and a row of rhombus motifs across top and bottom. The rug is bordered by a thin band of dark brown along the top and bottom edge.
