A late 19th to early 20th century Navajo double saddle blanket woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, gray and aniline dyed red. The design features repeating diamond motifs in dark brown and red, created using a particular variation of the twill weaving technique known as a diamond twill, across a heavily variegated ivory and gray field. the central field is bordered by a solid band of read across the top and bottom edges. The blanket is finished with dark brown selvedge cords and tassels.
