This is an early 20th century Navajo Red Mesa double saddle blanket woven in native hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, hand carded gray, and hand dyed aniline red and orange. The design features an open gray rectangular field at center, with a stepped half diamond on each side and radiating serrated bands in alternating colors on the lower quarter. The field is bordered by repeating orange scrolling motifs on a dark brown background.
