Cochiti Pottery Standing Figure, c.1880

Item: ZOPT1031C
Material: native clay
Size: 16 1/2" height
Period: Historic
Origin: Cochiti Pueblo

This is a late 19th century traditionally made and fired Cochiti pottery figure or "mono." The figure is standing in a natural pose with what appears to be a pipe held up to his lips and the other hand resting on the hip. The figure is made with hollow form construction and is slipped in white with guaco painted clothing and details. The condition is good with some professional restoration.
