This is a late 20th century sandpainting tapestry woven in commercial wool in a variety of colors by Navajo weaver Ruby Manuelito. The design depicts one of the sand painting medicine ceremonies. The weaving is done in commercial wool and is exceptionally fine. The textile comes from the estate of a private Colorado collector. The condition is very good with some minor moth grazing that has been addressed by a conservator. A short biography of the weaver and a description of the sand painting is attached.
