A hand painted screen depicting 66 individual panels representing cross cultural and universal sacred symbols. Artist Statement: "This was one of my absolute career favorites. The title of the piece is "Sacred Symbols". It was designed either to hang or as a "folding" screen, but much more stable as a hanging screen. The woman who purchased it wanted it for her mother's wall. It received a major ribbon at Spanish Market that year, John Schafer was one of the judges. It was also turned into a t-shirt by the Spanish Colonial Society and was one of their all time best sellers. At the time I believe the buyer paid $6000 or thereabouts for it. It is absolutely a one of a kind creation. I would venture a guess that it's value would be tripled because: As a 79 year old artist, I am no longer creating pieces of that magnitude. I do not believe I could find a carpenter who could duplicate the construction like the one I had then. And added to that, my prices have always been far too underpriced!! There is a legend which accompanies the piece that indicates what each symbol depicts, but the buyer did not want to have it at the time So I assume you do not have that. I will check my hard drives as I'm sure it still exists after all these years. If I run into it, I will send it off to you. Regards. Marie"
