An early to mid 20th century Navajo pictorial rug from the Teec Nos Pos region woven entirely in hand spun wool in natural ivory, dark brown, gray and aniline dyed red and blue. The design features a large bowtie motif on the vertical at center and an elaborate geometric form on either side, each with feathers on the interior, all on a variegated gray field. The field is further decorated with an American flag atop a flagpole laying horizontally across top and bottom. The rug is bordered by a band of ivory and a band of dark brown, serrated along the sides, along the outer edge.
