Gibson Nez Navajo Silver Overlay Bolo Tie with Turquoise Cabochon

This is a contemporary silver and turquoise bolo tie by Navajo silversmith Gibson Nez. The oval shaped bolo tie has a domed form with a central oval shaped setting of natural native turquoise set in a sawtooth silver bezel within an inverse oval motif with fine radiating lines emanating from the setting on either side. The bolo tie is further decorated with a scalloped border surrounding the central design and additional radiating lines at top, bottom, and to each side with a border of small repeating chiseled lines. The leather cord is adorned with three short tubular silver beads and finished with one long tubular bead, all with scalloped edges and decorated with horizontally chiseled lines. The piece is clearly hallmarked on the reverse.
