An early to mid 20th century large bird fetish by Zuni master carver Leekya Deyuse. The bird is carved from a conch shell, utilizing the natural interior spiral of the shell for the body with carved wings and a head on the outside. The bird is further decorated with round turquoise inlaid eyes.
