This is a contemporary beaded bag titled "Shoshone #1" by Arapaho/Seneca artist Ken Williams Jr. made from vintage glass beads, shell, copper bells and silk ribbon. The primary design features a beaded portrait of a Shoshone woman wearing traditional regalia, including a shell heishi necklace with a round shell pendant, with silk ribbon tied in the ends of her braided hair, all on a background of triangular panels in different hues of green. The bag has a beaded border of blue along the sides, fuchsia along bottom and light pink across top. The bag is finished with a beaded handle and is further adorned with beaded tassels with copper bells at each top corner and along the bottom edge.
